The original flange crank was developed in 1972 by SCAT and has been steadily improved over the
last 28 years. SCAT flange cranks are the choice of the fastest drag racers around the world who

SCAT gives you the option of a VOLKSTROKER STANDARD PRO-DRAG OR SUPER-LITE PRO-DRAG CHROMOLY
BILLET CRANKSHAFT. Remember, All of SCAT's flange crankshafts are 100% American machined at SCAT,
and are ground to exacting tolerances, magnafluxed, dynamically balanced, micro-polished and
most important, READY TO INSTALL.
In addition, our flange crankshafts are made from only the finest virgin 4340 chromoly steel
billets. Each billet is forged into the shape of a VW crankshaft by a series of 12 operations
using multi-cavity dies. These operations, combined with a 3 step heat-treating process, result
in the strongest forging available anywhere. THIS PROCESS IS A SCAT EXCLUSIVE!
Scat's exclusive straight shot oil system to the connecting rods is the only lubricating system
that will allow your performance engine to sustain RPM's above 6,500 without burning the rod
bearings. Also, all flange cranks include our exclusive 240,000 pound ARP bolts, chrome vanadium
dowel pins and a special pilot needle bearing.
