Digital Nitrous Control

So how does it work? Dry manifold systems eliminate problems with fuel puddling and uneven distribution that would be caused by injecting liquid fuel into a manifold not designed for this purpose. Dry manifold systems do not include a separate fuel injection nozzle. Supplemental fuel is provided by increasing the fuel system pressure. This causes the rate of supplemental fuel flow to vary with RPM. However, nitrous oxide is injected at a fixed rate determined by a jet. Consequently, the ratio of nitrous to fuel flow varies with RPM. The engine tends to run lean at low RPM and rich at high RPM. This mismatch in nitrous/fuel ratio is an inherent limitation of dry manifold systems that rely on strictly mechanical means to control flow. The Crane DNC overcomes this limitation and also offers some important safety features.
